Outerra World Sandbox

Outerra World Sandbox is a sandbox game letting us play to our liking with an entire world. It was developed by Outerra and published by Microprose after its revival in 2019.

Mechanics

Outerra World Sandbox is set in a gigantic open world consisting of beautiful plains, massive mountain ranges, vast deserts and deep oceans.

It's up to us how we'll enjoy this sandbox. We can traverse the world on foot, in vehicles or by controlling the free camera, but there are also far more creative things to be done.

Players can create their own vehicles, modify terrain, vegetation, lay down roads, modify villages, cities and build their own. We can try recreating actual places or let our imagination go wild.

Game modes

Outerra World Sandbox only supports singleplayer, although players can also share their creations with the community and play in their worlds.

Technical aspects

Outerra World Sandbox runs on a proprietary engine, which was also used to create the map in B-17 Flying Fortress: The Bloody 100th.
