A remastered version of a popular FPP shooter released for mobile devices in 2009. It was developed by the French studio Gameloft, which did not limit itself to enhancing visuals – gameplay has been enriched with, for example, crafting system that allows the players to upgrade their arsenal and create new weapons with the resources collected throughout the game. Like in the original game, N.O.V.A.
N.O.V.A. Legacy is a remastered version of a 2009 FPS. As in the case of the original, the French studio Gameloft is responsible for its development.
Story
Action in N.O.V.A. Legacy takes place in the distant future. Rapidly growing natural growth has forced mankind to explore the cosmos and settle new planets. It didn't take much time for Xenos - a mysterious, hostile alien civilization - to become interested in it. The main character of the game is Captain Kal Wardin. The war veteran's task is to infiltrate a space station belonging to the invaders. The mission entrusted to him is facilitated not only by a special powered armor but also by Yelena, an advanced AI.
Mechanics
N.O.V.A. Legacy is an FPP game. The basic game mode is the story campaign, consisting of nineteen different levels. The gameplay is based on a formula characteristic of this type of games - the essence is the exploration of subsequent levels and elimination of hordes of enemies. During our adventure, a varied arsenal falls into our hands, ranging from guns and machine guns, through rifles, to sniper rifles and rocket launchers. The whole thing is complemented by a crafting system, which was absent from the original, enabling us to improve the weapons and craft new items from the raw materials obtained during the game.
Game modes
In addition to the aforementioned campaign, N.O.V.A. Legacy offers a competitive, multiplayer variant for up to six players. In battles, we make use of both conventional weapons and a wide range of special abilities. In addition, there are two additional game modes to check: the first one is Shadow Events, which is a special order, in which we eliminate successive hosts of adversaries while trying to fit in a pre-defined time; the second is Special Ops, which is a strategic mission.
Technical aspects
N.O.V.A. Legacy boasts high quality, three-dimensional visuals. Contrary to the original game published eight years earlier, the title is distributed in a free-to-play model with microtransactions.
