Nobunaga's Ambition: Rise to Power is a complex, historical real-time strategy. This game is also the next installment of the Nobunaga's Ambition saga, initiated in 1983. In the past, this series has already seen, among other things, a product of the MMO species. The preparation of Rise to Power is the responsibility of the Japanese company Koei, mainly known for such series as Kessen or Dynasty Warriors.
The events presented in the game are set in sixteenth-century feudal Japan. This is a period commonly referred to as Sengoku Jidai, when individual rulers fiercely fought with each other. The player has an opportunity to play such a character. Interestingly, Nobunaga Oda, which appears in the title of the game, is one of the playable rulers. With Rise to Power buyers in mind, seven basic scenarios have been prepared, referring, among other things, to the events that led to the death of Nobunaga. Each scenario is characterized by a non-linear course of the game, allowing you to start playing in one of the more than 300 available points.
The real fun takes place on two different screens. The main screen offers a view of the castle and adjacent areas. The player can, among other things, form alliances or develop local infrastructure. In the latter case it is mentioned, among other things, the possibility of constructing camps for warriors, or those who contribute to the further development of marketplaces. All changes are carried out in real time and their effects are visible on the view of the city.
The second screen is a direct battlefield. These can be both standard battles, as well as those requiring more careful preparation of the siege of castles. What distinguishes Rise to Power from the previous games in this cycle is that this time the battles are played in full 3D. The player can observe both carefully modelled terrains, as well as detailed animated warriors. The producer didn't foresee any multiplayer modes, because Rise to Power was created solely with the tastes of a single player in mind.
