Noblemen: 1896, released on the mobile system iOS and AND, combines elements of strategy and action games. The game was developed by Foursaken Media studio, the authors of such games as Heroes & Castles 2, Puzzle to the Center of the Earth, Bug Heroes 2 and Block Fortress: War.
Plot
The game takes place in the titular year 1896 but in an alternate history - the developers present a vision of the 19th century that is a combination of steampunk with elements taken from the First World War and the Civil War. The game does not offer any plot - it includes an open strategic campaign, during which we have full freedom to lead one of the factions involved in a great conflict.
Mechanics
In terms of mechanics, Noblemen: 1896, released on iOS and AND, is a hybrid of genres - it combines elements of strategy and action games. The game is divided into two modes. The first is similar to other strategic games. Players must train armies and move them around the map, take care of supplies, conquer territories, carry out bombardments and besiege enemy fortresses. In addition, you can collect special cards that provide useful effects, such as a rapid building, equipping troops with better equipment, summoning special units, causing bad weather or supply problems for our enemy.
When two armies meet, the game switches to battle mode. Here, we direct a single hero - the camera switches to the third-person perspective. This mode connects the elements of the RTS and the shooters. The player can use a large arsenal of various firearms and hide behind covers. Our character is accompanied by allied troops. We can switch to the command screen at any time, allowing us to give orders, such as attacking a specific enemy or changing position. however, the artificial intelligence controlling our companions has been designed to be quite independent.
