NiOh Video Game Series
A series of soulslike action RPGs. The development of the series is overseen by Japanese studio Team Ninja, and its publisher is Koei Tecmo.
Games under the banner of NiOh take us on a journey to an alternative version of Japan from the Sengoku period, which falls in the 15th and 16th centuries. The wars for dominance, known from the pages of history, are not the only concern of the Land of the Cherry Blossom. For its inhabitants must also contend with yokai, or demons and monsters taken straight out of the local mythology. In the first part of the series we play William, a blond-haired warrior who arrives in Japan, following the trail of a certain Edward Kelley. On the spot, the protagonist joins Ieyasu Tokugawa and Hanzo Hattori to deal with both the common (yokai) and his own (Kelley) enemy with their help. The action of the second installment of the series, on the other hand, is set before the events presented in the original, and during the game we take control of a self-created hero (or heroine), who is half human, half yokai.
In the series NiOh the action is observed from a third-person perspective (TPP). The pillar of the gameplay is to fight spectacular and at the same time challenging clashes with opponents, during which we use primarily white weapons. On our way, leading through various locations, we face both regular opponents and much more powerful bosses; among the adversaries we find not only yokai, but also hostile samurai. The key to success is, above all, careful observation of enemies' movements, using quick dodges and launching lightning-fast counterattacks, as well as making proper use of three fighting stances, namely high (in which we inflict high damage, although we have limited possibilities of blocking and performing dodges), medium (perfectly suited for blocking) and low (used primarily to dodge enemy blows). In addition, in the second part of the series we can temporarily increase our combat potential by transforming into a demon.
In the games of the series NiOh there is no lack of a character development system. As we progress, we gain experience points and advance to the next levels, unlocking new skills and developing the ones we already have. In addition, the protagonist's chances of victory are increased by the equipment acquired along the way. If, despite everything, we can't cope with a problem, nothing prevents us from calling on other players for help. In addition, at the place of death of a given participant of the game we can summon a character modeled on him, controlled by the artificial intelligence, with whom we can cooperate or.... challenge her to a duel.
Although the first NiOh debuted in 2017 (first on PlayStation 4 and nine months later on PC), we first heard about it thirteen years earlier, when it was being developed with the PlayStation 3 platform in mind. After its official announcement, hearing about it disappeared for many years, and it was only remembered during the 2015 Tokyo Game Show. NiOh 2 on the other hand, came to Sony's fourth desktop console three years after the original's release.

A third-person action game developed by Team Ninja studio (known from titles like Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden) under the supervision of Koei Tecmo company. We play as a samurai fighting against various enemies, among which we will find both humans and monsters. We cut our way through the enemies not only with conventional weaponry, but also with special abilities of our hero and the magical power enchanted in his sword. Gameplay is a mix of games like Onimusha and Dark Souls. This means that the difficulty level is high and it forces the player to make use of different tactics, dodges, blocking and powerful, complex combos. Interestingly, game has been announced as early as 2005 and was supposed to be one of the launching titles for PlayStation 3. However, due to a few complications, the developed has been postponed, and the final game will make it now to next generation of consoles.
