A tactical multiplayer RPG set in the universe of Warhammer, released for mobile platforms. Mordheim: Warband Skirmish takes the players into the eponymous city of Mordheim, five hundred years before the events in the main timeline of Warhammer. A comet fell down from the sky in that area, bringing a precious mineral with it.

Mordheim: Warband Skirmish is set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe, specifically the eponymous city of Mordheim, which was also the setting of a tabletop battle game released in 1999 by Games Workshop. Like it was in the original, this game’s story takes place five hundred years before the events in the main timeline of Warhammer.
Soon after the city was hit by a comet, bringing along a precious mineral called Wyrdstone, the place has become an arena of war between several factions that wage bloody battles for any fragment of Wyrdstone. The player joins the conflict leading a self-composed team of adventurers collected from the streets of Mordheim.
Mordheim: Warband Skirmish presents the events from an isometric view. Before starting the game you recruit mercenaries representing a specific faction – the game offers a selection of Warhammer’s most recognizable ones, including Scaven, Reiklanders, and Middenheimers, some of which are available as paid DLC.
Gameplay is based on exploration of in-game locations, which differ in size, fighting enemies encountered on the way as well as harvesting the aforementioned mineral. Skirmishes are turn-based. How they go greatly depends on the player’s preferences – you are free to put forth a team of assassins, attacking enemies from cover, a band of shooters that keep opponents at bay, or warriors who prefer close-in combat. Note, however, that death here is permanent and the dead or gravely wounded adventurers must be replaced by new ones, whom you can hire during the adventure.
An important role is played by character progression system – in time heroes gain better and better equipment as well as new combat abilities.
Released for AND and iOS, Mordheim: Warband Skirmish features 3D graphics, whose quality is average at best. On the other hand, the game’s atmospheric music is quite catchy.
