Mondo Museum is a management sim, where we can make decisions about the layout of museum rooms, decoration, as well as the exhibits themselves, so that visitors are willing to spend money on tickets and our profits grow. The game was developed by independent studio Kitfox Games, known from such productions as Moon Hunters or Shattered Planet.

Plot

In Mondo Museum we play the role of the museum curator. Our goal is to make guests from all over the world want to come here to admire our unique exhibitions. However, before this happens, we must take the first steps and gradually expand the facility and skilfully manage the growing number of specialist employees.

Mechanics

In the game we have the possibility to build a museum from scratch, because from the very moment of placing walls, windows and doors, or choosing the colours of walls and floors. There was also the possibility to furnish and decorate rooms according to your own concept with a large number of items available in the game. This is similar to what happens in The Sims games.

Above all, however, we must take care of the proper selection of exhibits. These are divided thematically into different epochs, civilisations or achievements. You will find here, among other things, a collection of objects from ancient Egypt - from those used by kings and aristocrats to objects of everyday life, or any fossils, skeletons and remains of extinct dinosaurs. But these are only a few of them, because there are a lot more of them in the game itself. However, it is up to us to decide where they will be placed in the museum and whether they will be sorted by theme. Additionally, it is possible to download exhibits created by other players and share your own, as the developers support Steam Workshop.

However, in order to be able to afford the better attractions, we have to earn them. An investment in good employees is essential. And so we fill our rooms with guides who are familiar with the topic and who are willing to answer questions of curious guests, custodians who care about the condition of our exhibits, and archaeologists who find more and more interesting artifacts of the past. It is also worth taking care that the guests do not leave us empty-handed, so setting up a souvenir shop will make it impossible for the souvenir you bought to forget about our place so quickly, and we will get some much-needed money in our pockets.

However, if you thought that managing a museum is not difficult, you are wrong. You never know when a picky VIP will come, whose favours it is worth to seek, because in the future he may agree to borrow a rare exhibit from his collection for the purpose of our exhibition, or it turns out that our very important exhibit is in danger of complete destruction.

Technical aspects

Mondo Museum is a three-dimensional game observed from an isometric view, which resembles The Sims or Two Point Hospital in style.
