Millennia: Atomic Ambitions expands on the familiar late-game gameplay with new possibilities.

In the seventh epoch a new variant was introduced on the timeline in the form of the atomic era. It was inspired by early 20th century imaginations of a future powered by atomic energy. Uranium deposits appear on our map, which we extract to power cities with new energy.

In the ninth epoch we can experience a vision resulting from a global nuclear war. The Earth is turning into a wasteland, where we search for remnants of the old world and try to rebuild society.

The add-on also introduces a new DEFCON system mechanic (this is a system of readiness levels for external threats). As a result of the development of nuclear weapons, the global arms race is more intense. Every mistake and aggressive move towards enemy countries lowers the DEFCON level. If it falls to the very bottom, a nuclear war will break out.

Additionally, three new National Spirits have been added to the game. Siege Master allows the use of a new strategic combat system and focuses on building siege weapons. Nuclear Superiority is the spirit of the nation, which ensures military dominance during the arms race. On the other hand, the Flower Child gives the opportunity to appeal to humanity's reason and oppose nuclear weapons.

Game modes

Millennia: Atomic Ambitions allows us to start the game on a new map – Wasteland. As survivors of the nuclear war, we face the challenge of building a new civilization. Limited resources and a destroyed Earth pose a greater challenge than the Stone Age.

Millennia: Atomic Ambitions is not a standalone expansion, so it requires the base version of Millennia.
