M.E.A.T. II: Absolute Zero Description
M.E.A.T. II: Absolute Zero is the second installment of the series launched in 2021. Unlike the first part of the series, which was an action RPG, this time we are dealing with a representative of the so-called boomer shooters, i.e. shooters modeled on the classics of the genre.
The production was developed by Trippin Bears - a Polish development studio, existing since 2020, and founded, among others, by Wojciech Zawadzki, known in hip-hop circles under the nickname Elephant.
Plot
The action of M.E.A.T. II: Absolute Zero takes place after the events presented in the previous game under this banner. The title takes us to the nineteenth-century Canada, and more precisely - to Washagami. A mysterious substance called Telestarion or "Resin of the Rocks" was discovered in the vicinity of this city, which leads to the mutation of living beings and changes the nature of objects.
The main character of the game is the life-experienced Sir Duncan H. Culligan, whom we met in the original. This time the protagonist has to face the dark sect MBSXII, which plans to use Telestarion for its dark purposes, which may result in a veritable disaster.
Gameplay
In M.E.A.T. II: Absolute Zero, the action is viewed from a first-person perspective (FPP). Wandering through the dark corners of Washagami and its surroundings, we deal mainly with the elimination of hordes of enemies.
Both hostile humans and aggressive creatures, including powerful bosses, stand in our way. Clashes are dynamic in nature, and on the battlefield we make use of the Telestarion-powered arsenal, in which we can find not only firearms (such as a revolver or a shotgun), but also white weapons (headed by an axe).
In breaks from pulling the trigger and close combat, we can spend some time searching for secrets. Among them we will find hidden levels, secret clashes with bosses or various easter eggs.
Graphics
The graphic design of M.E.A.T. II: Absolute Zero is kept in a retro style, combining three-dimensional locations and objects and two-dimensional sprites (representing enemies or even the hero's hand holding a weapon).
