Plot
In Postal: Brain Damaged we take on the role of the psychopathic protagonist of the series, known as The Dude. The hero wakes up in a psychiatric hospital. Due to serious brain damage, the world around it is full of grotesque images and strange monsters that require extermination.
Mechanics
Postal: Brain Damaged is a classic first person shooter. The goal of the developers was to offer players a game referring to the old games. The gameplay here is mainly about travelling through locations (we walk around the hospital, Zone 69 and the comic book convention) and eliminating further enemies using the available weapons (e.g. a double-barreled shotgun, pistol, rifle, shovel or rocket launcher, the tip of which looks like a clown's head).
The game is not too complicated - dexterity and accuracy are what counts here, and the best way to stay alive is to keep moving. The key role is also played by the knowledge of the methods of attacking particular types of enemies (including zombies and aliens). From time to time we also have to face a powerful boss. Apart from fighting, we also overcome various obstacles (e.g. chasms) - we do it mainly by jumping.
Game modes
In Postal: Brain Damaged we can only play alone. The core of the game is the single player mode.
Technical aspects
Postal: Brain Damaged has quite simple, three-dimensional graphics. The graphics is maintained in retro style - it refers to the style and level of technological advancement (e.g. textures) to the games that were popular in the in the 1990s and at the beginning of this century. The game is extremely brutal, but it cannot be denied its characteristic, psychedelic atmosphere and black humor, which is the hallmark of this series.
