Plot
Last Horizon has a very simple story. We play as the pilot of the last ship which belongs to a civilistion standing on the verge of extinction. That civilization's world was destroyed and only a handful of people managed to get on board the ship. Now, it is our duty to save the entire species by finding a new home.
Mechanics
In the Last Horizon, released on PC, AND and iOS, the player controls a small ship and explores dangerous space. The game uses 2D graphics. The galaxy is randomly generated by the game's engine which means that we will always have new adventures and challenges ahead of us. Flying is not an easy task, because the ship's engines are not powerful and have problems with fighting the gravitational forces of celestial bodies and black holes. We must learn how to use them properly.
The player's task is to find an uninhabited world with appropriate parameters. However, before we reach that place, we must first collect the right amount of resources needed for terraforming, as well as try to find colonies where people still live, in order to take them with us on a journey to their new home.
The problem is that many planets that are rich in resources already have their inhabitants, who have limited tolerance towards the newcomers stealing from their world. If we take too much, they will start chasing us. In the emptiness of space, we will also meet armadas of pirates and numerous dangerous anomalies. What's more, we need to keep fuel and oxygen levels at the right level at all times.
