Like many adventures from the 1980s, A View to Kill doesn't have any form of artwork. The information is provided only by means of written messages, describing in detail not only the location of the spy, but also all events. The plot follows the path set by the film's prototype, although for the sake of variety, the authors of the game tempted themselves with a few other, absent in John Glen's film, threads. Noteworthy is the fact that all texts appearing in the game were prepared by Raymond Benson, the later official author of books about the adventures of James Bond (1997 - 2003).

Communication with A View to Kill takes place using the command line at the bottom of the screen, where the user enters the proposed commands using the keyboard. The game is about guessing what to do to move the action forward, and then putting the plan into practice, of course through the implementation of the correct sentence. In the latter respect the game is merciless. Authors require very precise formulation of orders, and this is not easy with a very limited amount of words - as a result, you can get stuck relatively quickly. As if that wasn't enough, in A View to Kill the passage of time is very important, and each subsequent command entered, even if it's wrong, causes the loss of valuable seconds. Due to the resulting frustration and generally high level of difficulty, Angelsoft's work was not able to compete with Infocom's products and was not successful.
