In 1989, a small company Three-Sixty released a game that revolutionized the then strategy game market. Developed on the basis of a board game by Larry Bond - "Harpoon" is a simulation of contemporary theatre of warfare at sea and in the air. The authors of the game put special emphasis on the maximum faithful representation of the realities of the battlefield. In the game there is a very rich library of data, containing detailed descriptions of most types of marine and airborne weapons used by modern powers. As the main commander of one side of the conflict, the player has an influence on almost every factor on the battlefield, even such as the type of weaponry taken to the patrol, or the altitude of the flight.
