Carriers at War is a game remake designed by Australian company Strategic Studies Group Pty Ltd. under the same title, which was originally released in 1984 with the Commodore 64 computer in mind. The new version, realized nine years later, is a faithful copy of the original, additionally equipped with a decent for those times visual setting.

The action of the game focuses on military activities that took place during World War II in Pacific waters. The program offers six extensive scenarios, including the most famous battles of that period (including the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Battle of Midway, the Battle of the Coral Sea and the Battle of the Philippine Sea), in which we can command both Japanese and American vessels. Of course, the first violin is played here by aircraft carriers and airplanes gathered on their decks. It is with the help of these ships that we will try to recreate the real course of events or the impossible and change history - because the SSG product also offers this possibility.
