Gwent: Way of The Witcher

Gwent: Way of The Witcher is sixth add-on to a card game set in a fantasy universe known from the Witcher games series, books by Andrzej Sapkowski and the TV series. The expansion focuses on the title Witchers - iconic monster killers. The DLC is introducing several dozen new cards and another keyword. The Polish company CD Projekt RED is responsible for its development and release.

Gwent: Way of The Witcher is not a stand-alone expansion which means that it requires a basic version of the game to work. DLC is free to play.

Plot

Gwent: Way of The Witcher focuses on enigmatic monster hunters, such as the famous Geralt of Rivia, the protagonist of the Witcher saga and the main character of The Witcher games. These are mutants, which bodies are transformed by an ancient ritual called Trial of the Grasses, created by the magician Alzur.

Mechanics

Way of The Witcher expansion introduces 70 new cards - ten for each of the available factions, plus ten neutral cards that can be used by all. Many of these cards are the witchers, who, when they appear on the game table, influence the cards in various ways, offering the factions additional tactical possibilities.

Game modes

Gwent: Way of The Witcher add-on does not offer new game modes. The core is an online multiplayer mode.

Technical aspects

Gwent: Way of The Witcher does not change the graphic design of the basic version of the Gwent: The Witcher Card Game. We only receive new illustrations on cards.
