The third expansion to the popular Guild Wars 2 MMORPG from ArenaNet studio. The action Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons takes place on an island inhabited by the Cantha tribe, which for 200 years has had no contact with the rest of the world.
Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons is the third major expansion for the 2012 MMORPG Guild Wars 2. The expansion was developed by ArenaNet studio, the same team that produced the main game.
Plot
The expansion offers a new story line, which is set on Cantha - an island region which is home to the oldest human nation Tyria. This place was isolated from the world for 200 years due to a curse. During this time, many ingenious uses for the material known as dragonjade have been discovered, which, combined with a richness in magic, has provided the local communities with access to solutions and technologies unknown nowhere else. However, the dragon cycle that drives development and prosperity is beginning to fade. As a result, Cantha is likely to once again become part of the larger world, but the price for this may be the loss of progress earned through years of isolation.
Mechanics
End of Dragons is a classic add-on that doesn't bring any revolutionary changes and instead focuses on expanding the content of Guild Wars 2. The expansion primarily introduces many new locations and adventures. The project also offers an additional mount in the form of a giant siege turtle. This is the first animal in the game that can be ridden by two players - all previous ones could only be ridden by one character.
The expansion also introduces a new skiff for transporting groups of players, as well as a new fishing mechanic that allows players to earn extra food and participate in special tournaments to determine the best anglers in Tyria.
End of Dragons also offers new elite specialisations for all nine professions, introducing previously unknown gameplay mechanics. There are also fresh strike missions for teams of ten players and a host of additional items, including third-generation legendary weapons.
Technical aspects
Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons can be purchased separately or in a bundle with the previous two expansions and the basic version of the game. The expansion itself only requires the base Guild Wars 2 to work.

MMORPG.com: 9 / 10 by Robin Baird
Overall, End of Dragons feels like ArenaNet has taken all the lessons of both Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire and honed their newest expansion into the best of both. The few areas where things aren't quite there, they are working hard at fixing them in the right way, which will be best over the long term, rather than quick kneejerk solutions. This is the perfect capstone to the story they have been telling for the last ten years, and this expansion makes me excited to see where they will go from here.
GameSpace: 9 / 10 by Ed Orr
A marvelous new frontier for Guild Wars 2. End of Dragons crashes into Cantha and expands Tyria with more than jsut a new sandbox. It delivers an astounding new adventure on a stupendous scale. It isn't perfect but if this is where he end comes then it's a fitting epitaph for Guild Wars 2.
PCGamesN: 8 / 10 by Cassandra Roxburgh
AreaNet's best expansion yet is brimming with all the detail and character that makes Guild Wars 2 so special, and its approachability to solo players means nobody has to miss out this time around.
