Siege Survival: Gloria Victis is a strategy game with elements of survival and stealth games. The game, inspired by the bestselling This War of Mine, was developed by independent teams FishTankStudio and Black Eye Games and published by Ravenscourt.

Plot

Siege Survival: Gloria Victis takes us into a medieval fantasy universe created for the game Gloria Victis. During the game, we take control of the civilians locked in the besieged castle. In anticipation of the relief, which is due to arrive in a few weeks, our charges must fight for survival and support the efforts of the castle defenders.

Mechanics

In Siege Survival: Gloria Victis the action is shown from a top-down view. The gameplay was divided into two different segments, depending on the time of day.

Under cover of darkness we send the trapped civilians to loot the ruins of the city. As there is nothing left to look for in safe places, our people have to venture into ruined districts patrolled by enemy troops for priceless supplies. Sneaking behind the backs of enemy troops, civilians not only look for valuable resources, but also meet other looters (with whom they can trade) or those in need (which they can help... or not).

During the day we deal with the management of scarce resources. So we construct necessary structures (such as a fireplace where people can prepare a meal), process the food (so it wouldn't rot), and support the soldiers fighting on the castle walls. All this is complemented by the need to make morally ambiguous choices. The inhabitants of the castle are not only afflicted by hunger and fear, but also by numerous illnesses, and it is up to us to help those in need in the ruins or to give food to the army in order to raise the morale of the army at the expense of ordinary inhabitants.

Technical aspects

Siege Survival: Gloria Victis has decent quality graphics, which is typical for the genre. For the purposes of the game, the authors have prepared an extensive editor allowing for the creation of their own scripts and sharing them with the community.
