Crash Bash Description
Crash Bash is a spin-off of the popular 3D platform game series Crash Bandicoot produced by Naughty Dog. It was developed by Eurocom and is a compilation of arcade mini-games in which characters from the popular universe compete against each other.
Plot
Magical masks symbolizing the powers of good and evil, Aku Aku and Uka Uka, argue about which of them is more powerful. The representative of the dark force proposes a duel. However, due to the risk of destroying the entire universe, a direct clash is out of the question. So the rivals decide to settle the dispute with the help of their friends and supporters, who are to face each other in a series of competitions. A unique tournament begins.
Mechanics
Crash Bash is a collection of mini-games that test players' dexterity and cunning. The authors have prepared twenty-eight competitions in which the characters from the world of Crash Bandicoot can compete. The range of challenges is large and includes races on oval tracks full of traps, fights with pushing the opponent off the board or tank clashes in mazes. Some mini-games are all about reflexes, while others force you to devise the best strategies and win with cunning. Eight characters are available to the player, four for each side of the great battle between good and evil.
Although Crash Bash is geared towards multiplayer, the developers at Eurocom haven't forgotten about solo players, who can take on the artificial intelligence in the adventure mode. In it, players collect crystals, typical of the Crash Bandicoot series, with the aim of acquiring enough for the duel between Aku Aku and Uka Uka to be declared a winner. Depending on which side you choose, the final outcome for the teams representing both masks may vary.
Technical aspects
Crash Bash is a 3D game, which is kept in the characteristic humorous style of the series. The battles are presented in a tongue-in-cheek manner, and the violence is exaggerated and cartoonish. The game makes use of multi-tap, allowing up to four people to compete simultaneously.
