World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor Description
Warlords of Draenor for PC is the fifth expansion pack for World of Warcraft - a game which debuted back in 2004. Again, the expansion was created by a development team belonging to an American company known as Blizzard Entertainment. Although Warlords of Draenor does not bring any revolutionary changes to the MMO formula that has drawn and kept the attention of millions of players from all over the world, it is a step forward in the game's constant evolution. It has to be noticed that in terms of the contents, this is one of Blizzard's richest expansions created for World of Warcraft.
Mechanics
The expansion does not offer any playable races, but it introduces a new land called Draenor, which is divided into seven different zones. Among those, one will find dried wastelands, forests filled with life or frozen highlands. The players were given an opportunity to complete dozens of new quests, fight new monsters and slay new bosses. Also, two new raids and six additional dungeons were created for the sake of this expansion.
Warlords of Draenor for PC raises the level cap to 100. Interestingly, both novices and those revisiting Azeroth do not have to play the game for hours in order to reach a high level and be able to enjoy the new contents - the players who pre-ordered the game received a single-use ability to increase a character's level to 90, which allows to participate in adventures contained within the Warlords of Draenor expansion immedietely.
The expansion pack introduces strategy elements related to an ability to build and manage one's garrison. This makes World of Warcraft one of the MMO games allowing the players to own a part of the virtual environment as their houses. Within a fortress, the player can construct different buildings, such as inns, stables or armories - buildings affect one's character's statistics. Each of the buildings can be developed up to level 3, increasing its capabilities and bonuses it grants. Also, the player creates trading routes and hires henchmen capable of gathering materials, treasures and weapons in the dungeons chosen. Importantly, the main storyline of the expansion is connected with one's garrison, where additional quests can be found as well.
Technical aspects
Warlords of Draenor for PC brings certain changes to the visuals of the base game. The creators decided on improving old character models (mainly humans, gnomes and orcs, but also other creatures, such as talbuks). This made the game more enjoyable and relatively successful in trying to keep up with other MMORPGs available.
