Game of Thrones: Kingsroad

The cities deserve special mention - they serve as hubs where we meet other players and can go on special cooperative PvE expeditions with them. Towns are also places with services provided by stables, blacksmiths, shops etc. We have our own castle (the home of the Tyre family), which we can gradually expand, using various resources obtained during adventures.

Combat system

Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is using a skill-based melee weapon combat system. Depending on the chosen character class, we default to using a long sword, a two-handed axe, or two daggers (available in numerous variants and subject to upgrades). We also support ourselves with a crossbow (which we additionally use to solve simple environmental puzzles).

The combat system involves launching fast, strong, and special attacks (the latter are improved by advancing to higher character levels and they have a "cooldown" period after being used), as well as performing dodges, blocks, and counterattacks. Apart from regular enemies, who usually attack in small groups, much more powerful bosses stand in our way.

Co-op

For most of the time, we wander alone through Westeros, but as mentioned, the game offers PvE expeditions in a network cooperative mode, available along with a matchmaking system.

Story

Game of Thrones: Kingsroad takes us to the continent of Westeros. The game's story is set between the fourth and fifth season of the TV series. The adventure begins in the far north, near the Wall, where the protagonist - an illegitimate descendant and heir of the minor lord Tyre - witnesses an attack by a horde of undead alongside Jon Snow. In connection with this, the Night's Watch makes the hero its envoy to the south, towards the capital's King's Landing, to gain support in the fight against the approaching army of monsters.
