Fate of Kai Description
Fate of Kai is a 2D adventure game with puzzle elements. The game is inspired by visual novel genre and stands out due to the fact that we do not control the characters directly - instead, we influence their thoughts. The game was developed and published by Trylight Game Studio. It is the first project of this developer.
Plot
The protagonist of the game is Kai - a boy who one day finds a magic book. It takes him to another world, hidden in its pages.
Mechanics
Fate of Kai gameplay is mainly about carefully watching the boards that appear on the screen and making choices. Sometimes these are simple decisions defining the protagonist's way of thinking, but in some cases their consequences can be far-reaching. Additionally, sometimes the developers set us more complex tasks.
Each chapter of the book is a kind of logical labyrinth - we have to solve puzzles and look for proper ways out of various situations. By making decisions we shape the story and gradually get to know the plot - this is the main aim of the game.
Game modes
In Fate of Kai we can only play solo. The core of the game is the story campaign.
Technical aspects
Fate of Kai has a very nice 2D graphic design, which is certainly one of the biggest strengths of the game. The graphics consist of several hundred comic book-like, hand-drawn boards, which present individual visited places and events.
