Mechanics

FarHome is designed to be played solo or in cooperation with other players. The game is divided into two main elements - exploration and combat. While visiting various open locations (e.g. jungle, desert and spacecraft) we come across enemies that we can deal with with using firearms. Depending on the chosen character class, we gain access to various tools, including rifles, laser guns or automatic turrets. Most enemies are pretty basic; their low power of destruction is compensated for by their diversity and resistance to various types of attacks and numbers - we usually have to cope with a whole horde of alien creatures.

The gameplay is fast and arcade, but developers tried to adapt it to virtual reality, giving players, among other things, different possibilities of movement. WE can walk and run normally, teleport over long distances or jump across short distances. This enables us to adjust the gameplay to some extent to suit our preferences.

Technical aspects

FarHome is powered by Epic Games' Unreal Engine technology. The popular engine is known from many other titles - from the Gears of War 4 shooter, through the battle royale Fortnite, to the Tekken 7 fighting game.
