Lone Echo is a sci-fi first-person action game, developed by Ready At Dawn. The developer has previously made the acclaimed games God of War: Ghost of Sparta and The Order: 1886 – both those games were released on Sony’s consoles, but this time the creators prepared a title designed solely for the PC.
Plot
Lone Echo for PC takes you far into the future, to the year 2126, letting you play as an android named Jack. The hero, along with several other robots, serves at a space ship. When the vehicle bumps into an interstellar anomaly things get messy and it becomes your job to handle the aftermath of the accident.
Mechanics
The events in Lone Echo are presented in first-person perspective. Because the protagonist operates under zero gravity conditions, moving around in-game locations requires the players to use their hands – using motion controllers dedicated for VR headsets you grab virtual walls and railings in order to push or pull yourself in the desired direction. While playing you visit not only futuristic insides of the ship, but you can also take a walk in the cosmic space. An important element of Lone Echo are its environmental puzzles, which require performing actions like repairing broken ship’s modules etc.
Game modes
Apart from a single player campaign, the game offers team-based multiplayer. Two five-person teams rial against one another, trying to throw a flying disc into the opponent’s goal. This is also played in zero gravity environments.
Technical aspects
Just like it was in the case of the previous games of the studio, Lone Echo for PC is characterizd by high-quality graphics – both character models and environments were designed with great care for detail, and the visuals are further enhanced by advanced particle effects. In order to play the game you need a VR headset and dedicated motion controllers.
