ExerBeat belongs to a popular category of games that encourage physical activity and are a substitute for activities in a fitness club. Developers from Namco Bandai have prepared a wide range of exercises from various training sessions.
Players can work on their fitness by choosing one of the predefined training regimes or by creating their own exercises from eight groups, which traditional aerobics, dance routines in hip-hop or latino rhythms, learning the basics of karate, boxing, stretching, yoga and pilates. Extensive setting options allow you to determine, among other things, the time and intensity of the effort. The correctness of individual exercises is also supervised by instructors controlled by computer artificial intelligence.
The progress of practitioners is recorded in the form of statistics, taking into account e.g. the time spent, the number of calories burned and the distance travelled. Incentives for players are awarded points. They allow players to take part in a virtual race around the world.
A form of variety for training in ExerBeat is the party mode, which consists of five arcade mini-games: Dance Fever, Wall Smasher, Pizza Tools, Swimming and Pirate Attack. He differs not only in his competitive character, but also more cartoon-like graphic design with characters reminiscent of Wii Mii avatars.
From the visual point of view, ExerBeat presents a level similar to competitive productions. Both three-dimensional character models and locations are characterised by a relatively low level of detail.
