EQQO is a puzzle game inspired by Ethiopian culture. During the adventure, the player helps the hero to complete the next levels. Parallel Studio is responsible for develping the game. The publisher is natoNakana.io.
Plot
The story in EQQO focuses on the fate of the boy, who is blind from birth. He loves to listen to all kinds of myths, and his favorite one is the one about the god, hiding under the figure of a snake, trying to lay his egg under a tree called Mother Tree.
One day the boy meets the hero of his favorite story. Unfortunately, the hero is badly injured by people. So EQQO decides to help him and take his egg to the goal. The story is told by the mother of the protagonist.
Mechanics
In EQQO, the player does not directly control the main character. Instead, we play the role of a supernatural force that helps the hero to pass the next level. Each loaction is a logical puzzle that must be solved. You can do this by interacting with different objects (for example moving or knocking them down) or ordering the boy to perform a specific action.
In production, perspective also plays an important role. The world is presented in an isometric view, and each loaction can only be observed under specific angles imposed by the game. The player must therefore switch between the available views in such a way as to locate all the elements necessary to solve the puzzle.
During some sequences, the player must order EQQO to put down the egg he is carrying. In the later stages of the game, creatures known as” shadows" appear, which can take over the egg if it lies too long.
Technical aspects
The graphic design in EQQO is minimalist and devoid of details.
