Emergency Video Game Series
A simulation games series, the theme of which is the functioning of emergency services in crisis situations. The series was created by the German studio Sixteen Tons Entertainment, which oversees its development with support from, among others, the Quadriga Games development team.
The origins of the series date back to 1998 and the release of Emergency: Fighters for Life on PC. The game of the studio Sixteen Tons Entertainment was inspired by the tragedy during the air show at the Rammstein base in 1988. For the sequel - Emergency 2: The Ultimate Fight for Life gamers had to wait five years. The title was met with a rather cool reception, among other things due to its outdated visuals. A significant improvement in this regard came only with the third game - Emergency 3: Mission: Life (2005). In 2010, by the decision of Deep Silver, there was a change of developer, to Quadriga Games studio. This resulted in the game Emergency 2012: The Quest for Peace, as well as two DLCs to it: Emergency 2013 i Emergency 2014. Preparation of the next installment of the series - Emergency 5 was once again entrusted by the publisher to the Sixteen Tons Entertainment team.
The common denominator of the games in the series Emergency is the attempt to to present the actions of emergency services in life-threatening situations realistically. The player takes on the role of the chief of the emergency management staff, under whose command are, among others, units of the fire department, ambulance service, and police.
The gameplay usually consists of a series of missions (often inspired by authentic events) of varying difficulty. The player must demonstrate the ability to manage limited equipment and human resources, as well as plan actions and anticipate the development of accidents.
Most games in the Emergency series offers only the possibility of single-player fun. A cooperative multiplayer mode was introduced only in Emergency 2012.

Another stand-alone expansion pack for Emergency 5 - a 2014's simulation/strategy game by Sixteen Tons Entertainment. The expansion is a both improved and expanded version of the base game. In Emergency 2017, the player gets in charge of a rescue team comprised of police units, firefighters, paramedics and technicians. The player's task is to face the effects of various accidents, catastrophes, and natural disasters. Compared to the previous edition, the creators introduced plenty of improvements and upgrades to the mechanics and eliminated the most common issues. The largest novelty, however, is a completely new story campaign set in modern times, as well as a mini-campaign situated in the Middle Ages, a period where the so-called witch hunts took place. Apart from that, the expansion brings a new K9 unit - a dog capable of tracking those trapped under the debris or locating explosives.

An expanded edition of Emergency 5, a simulation strategy game by Sixteen Tons Entertainment. In the game, we assume control of specialized emergency services yet again, including the fire department, the police, ambulances, and technical services, and our task is to neutralize the effects of accidents, natural disasters, and other threats that happen in four German cities: Berlin, Cologne, Munich, and Hamburg. Compared to the basic version of the game, the gameplay mechanics remain the same. The main highlight of Emergency 2016 is the previously unavailable units and a completely new mini-campaign set in the 14th–century Cologne that tells of the struggle against the epidemic of the so-called Black Death. What’s interesting, in the further course of the game, the plague returns in modern times, and the player’s responsibility is to stop it from spreading. Apart from that, the game features a full set of campaigns and scenarios from the vanilla version but complemented with updates released after its launch.
