Dungeon Hunter Champions Description
Dungeon Hunter Champions for iOS, PC and AND is an action RPG featuring certain MOBA elements. The game developed by Gameloft (a team responsible for creating all the previous installments in the series) is based on the free-to-play business model with the optional microtransactions.
Plot
The game takes players to a fantasy universe known from the previous installments in the series. The plot revolves around the Championship – a form of entertainment very popular in the golden palaces as well as cheap-jack taverns. The participants have to recreate legendary adventures and battles from the rich history of the realm. They do not know, however, the game is much more than just a mere form of entertainment and has a real effect on reality.
Mechanics
In terms of its gameplay mechanics, the iOS, PC and AND release of Dungeon Hunter Champions resembles its predecessors – a player gets at his disposal an action RPG in which he observes the story from a top-down perspective and has to fight hordes of enemies using a simple and arcade combat system.
Instead of classic character classes, one can choose from over 275 characters, which are gradually unlocked as one progresses through the game. Each character features their own weaponry and abilities, which can be developed with the acquired experience points. After choosing the heroes, a player has to assemble a team – during the game, we get to control one character at the time, while the remaining ones are controlled by the AI. It is possible to switch between the warriors as well as to issue simple commands to the rest of the team – e.g. focusing their attack on one particular enemy.
Game modes
The game offers a vast story campaign divided into linear missions. There is also a horde mode, in which a player has to fight growing enemy waves throughout twelve separate levels.
Dungeon Hunter Champions also delivers a MOBA-style multiplayer mode, in which two five-player teams have to fight one another with the task of destroying opponents’ base . During these battles, each player gets to control a single character.
