Dr. Fetus' Mean Meat Machine

Dr. Fetus' Mean Meat Machine is an arcade game combining elements of a platformer and a puzzle game. It's a spin-off of the popular Super Meat Boy series, telling the story of a boy made of meat traversing dangerous levels filled with various traps. It was developed by Headup Development with input from Team Meat, the studio known from the series' previous installments.

Plot

The evil Dr. Fetus comes up with a new plan, this time deciding to clone his arch-enemy - Meat Boy. Unfortunately for him, the DNA samples he collected are incomplete, making each copy inferior to the original. Thus, the evil scientist creates a series of dangerous trials to identify the clone with the greatest potential.

Mechanics

Dr. Fetus' Mean Meat Machine is an arcade game inspired by titles such as Tetris and Puyo Puyo. Each challenge tasks us with connecting clones of the same color. After lining up four Meat Boy copies, they disappear, awarding us with points. The main challenge is posed by numerous traps we must guide them through beforehand. The hazards include giant buzzsaws, rocket launchers and pits of lava.

Each challenge is divided into four stages of increasing difficulty. During each final stage we encounter a boss requiring a specific strategy to beat. Fortunately, after losing we can continue from the most recent stage unlocked.

Dr. Fetus’ Mean Meat Machine features over a hundred hand-drawn game boards referencing Super Meat Boy and Super Meat Boy Forever. The playable levels include a hospital, a salt factory, a picturesque forest and many others.
