A mobile arcade logic puzzle game by Mediocre. In Does Not Commute you play as ordinary people driving around the city for various reasons and your task is to lead the cars from the starting points to their final destinations.
Does not Commute for Android and iOS is an interesting racing production, which uses elements of logical games. The title was developed by Mediocre studio, which has several mobile hits, including Smash Hit and Sprinkle.
Mechanics
In Does not Commute, we play the role of ordinary people who travel around the city for various purposes. One person goes to the dentist, another goes to work, and so on. As a result, they travel on different routes. The game has been divided into smaller metropolitan areas, where we have to drive a dozen or so vehicles. It may seem easy because the gameplay is based only on turning left and right, and the routes themselves are not too complicated. The problem is that the game saves the routes of each character - when we set off on the next route, the other drivers, whom we controlled a moment earlier, also start their journey. As a result, after a few passes, the city is full of cars replaying our earlier routes, which makes it much more difficult to play.
This is not all, however, because we have a certain amount of time to reach each of the destinations. If we don't make it in the limit, we lose. However, we can use fields offering additional seconds and the limited possibility of reversing the time. We need to plan our routes out in advance to avoid making the game more challenging for us.
Technical aspects
The graphics in Does not Commute aren't of the highest quality, but they are still acceptable. The action can be observed from a camera located above a given part of the city which doesn't have a lot of details. The same goes for vehicles. Nevertheless, while having fun, this simple style works great.
