A mobile adventure game from the HOPA genre, based on the popular TV series Dexter. Dexter: Hidden Darkness lets us play as the titular serial murderer, who works for the Miami police as a forensics expert, hunting down people who deserve death to satisfy his own murderous instinct. The campaign provides several cases to solve and we must cooperate with the characters known from the series, such as Debra, Batista and Masuka.
Dexter: Hidden Darkness is an iOS mobile hidden object adventure. The game was developed by BlooBuzz, a Canadian studio; it uses a free model with micropayments.
In the game we play the title character Dexter Morgan, a character known from the popular TV series Showtime and the novel series by Jeff Lindsay. The protagonist works in a police forensic laboratory in Miami and for years has been hiding from his loved ones the fact that he is also a serial murderer. What distinguishes him from other monsters in human skin is the fact that he hunts mainly for people who deserve to die.
During the game we have the opportunity to face several investigations. When investigating and collecting traces, we must cooperate with characters known from the screen, such as Debra, Batista or Mask. However, when we discover the perpetrator, we do not pass this information on to the police. Instead, we personally deal with the elimination of the guilty party.
All this was realized in the form of a hidden object adventure. While playing, we deal with conversations with characters, solving puzzles and passing challenges with hidden objects, in which you have to find specific objects on the screens. For less experienced players there is a system of hints.
At the same time, during the hunt for murderers, we must abide by the so-called Harry Code, a set of rules established by foster father Dexter to ensure that the protagonist never kills an innocent man. The game also offers simple multiplayer elements to compete with the rest of the community: the one who solves the challenge the fastest wins.
