A detective logic and adventure game belonging to the popular genre of "hidden object games". The game consists in solving subsequent criminal riddles: searching for clues, analyzing evidence and interrogating witnesses and suspects. Most of the time, however, we spend searching successive locations, filled with a mass of hidden objects to find.

Criminal Case, released on AND, iOS and browsers, is a detective logic and adventure game, using the mechanics of popular "hidden object" casual productions. The title was developed by the French studio Pretty Simple and made available to users of Facebook. In 2013, it received "Facebook Game of the Year" award.

Mechanics

The action of Criminal Case takes place in the fictional city of Grimsborough, where we play the role of a local police detective. The game consists of solving successive criminal riddles: searching for clues, analyzing evidence and interrogating witnesses and suspects. Each of these activities, however, requires the sacrifice of one of the stars that we receive when exploring subsequent scenes related to the case, filled with numerous hidden objects. In each location, we can get a maximum of 5 stars, and each subsequent one involves the need to find a greater number of items. Fortunately, they are always hidden in the same places, which makes it easier to search scenes with each approach.

In addition to the classic "hidden object" stages, we also have bonus stages, consisting of searching for objects within a time limit, arranging puzzles or finding differences between the two pictures. Next levels of experience unlock new elements of appearance and clothing of our avatar. It is also possible to adopt a police dog, which will provide us with additional points when searching a location.

Technical aspects

Criminal Case is characterized by an aesthetic cartoon graphics and is distributed in a free-to-play model, subject to its typical limitations. The fun can continue until the energy is exhausted, after which we are forced to wait for its regeneration, or purchase special power-ups in the game store. Fortunately, thanks to extended social options, we can invite our friends to join us in the game to solve more puzzles and replenish each other's energy reserves with their help.
