Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow of Devil May Cry series
For a game that wasn’t even planned, the first Devil May Cry turned out to be truly groundbreaking. Of course, this generated subsequent follow-ups. The history of the franchise is one big sinusoid, but that just makes the story all the more interesting.

Devil May Cry 4 Description
Devil May Cry 4 for PC, X360 and PS3 is a third-person perspective dynamic action game. This is the fourth instalment of the popular series, which is directly connected with Sony consoles. Initially, the title was intended to be an exclusive game for PlayStation 3, but the developers decided to expand the audience and published it on PC and Xbox 360. Devil May Cry 4 does not focus primarily on Dante. This time you play as Nero, who is confusingly similar to the hero in the red coat. He is accompanied by a woman named Kyrie, whose brother leads the Holy Knights. She serves as both a mother and sister for the protagonist.
Plot
The plot only slightly refers to the former instalments. Sparda – Dante’s and Vergil’s father – is a demon worshipped as the Legendary Dark Knight by the Order of the Sword. It brings together the mentioned Holy Knights, to which the main hero belongs. One day he witnesses a carnage carried out by Dante and swears revenge.
Mechanics
Travelling through the virtual world, Nero comes across a wide variety of enemies, usually consisting of hellish creatures. Similarly to the former instalments, they attack collectively. Some missions feature fights with bosses, often much larger than the hero himself.
Developers equipped the protagonist with a huge sword called the Red Queen and a double barrelled revolver – the Blue Rose. However, this will not be enough to defeat the devil army. Fortunately, Nero has supernatural powers – e.g. the Devil Bringer – which he inherited after his father. During combat he can transform into a demonic warrior with increased strength and defence. The Devil Bringer enables the player to bring closer distant enemies and to throw them against walls. Moreover, the hero uses an extensive movement system that makes use of his magic abilities and combos.
DMC 4 released on PC, X360 and PS3 offers a number of breathtaking special effects, like knocking enemies into the air and chopping them with the sword while mid-air.
Technical aspects
Particular virtual locations, like the port, the courtyard, the factory, and the church, deserve recognition. Each of them is designed in a unique style and the surrounding buildings have exceptional architecture. The detailed elements of environment, the work of lights, and animations are also noteworthy. The action is powered by an electrifying soundtrack that makes gameplay even wilder.
