An expansion to Destiny 2 and the finale to the "Light and Darkness" saga. Destiny 2: The Final Shape introduces a new story campaign, a new area and new super abilities.
Destiny 2: The Final Shape is an expansion to Destiny 2, a 2017 looter shooter. Like the base game, it was developed by Bungie.
Plot
Destiny 2: Final Shape is the finale of the "Light and Darkness" saga. The expansion's linear campaign is set within the Traveler, where we must put an end to the great war and put an end to the Witness, the game's main antagonist. The expansion also brings back Cayde-6, a fan-favorite character who was thought dead after Destiny 2: Forsaken.
Mechanics
Destiny 2: The Final Shape doesn't drastically change the game's mechanics, instead introducing new content. Aside from the story quests, there's also a new map, the Traveler's Pale Heart, which becomes available after completing the main story. The area is dangerous and full of enemies capable of binding players.
The DLC also introduces new abilities. Solar Warlocks can buff themselves and their allies, Void Titans can wield axes (and so can their friends), while the Arc Hunters gain throwing knives which teleport them where they strike.
Technical aspects
Destiny 2: The Final Shape is not a standalone expansion, requiring the base version of Destiny 2.
