Beyond Light is the fifth large add-on to Destiny 2 online FPS. The expansion offers a new campaign and allows heroes to use the powers of The Darkness for the first time (until now they could only use the powers of Light).
Destiny 2: Beyond Light is the fifth big add-on (after Curse of Osiris, Warmind, Forsaken and Shadowkeep) to the Destiny 2 online shooter. The expansion was developed by Bungie studio, the team responsible for the basic version of the game and early versions of the Halo series.
Plot
The feature expansion moves the entire universe of Destiny 2, continuing the story of the invasion of giant pyramid-shaped ships. They are associated with a force known only as the Darkness, a deadly enemy of The Traveller.
Destiny 2: Beyond Light focuses on Europe, one of the moons of Jupiter. So far, it was believed that it is only a cemetery of the remains of the Golden Age. It is now becoming one of the most important places in the solar system. From the ancient Pyramids, a new power is born over the frozen surface of the moon, and beneath it a dark empire of the Fallen under the banner of the mighty Eramis.
Mechanics
As a matter of fact, Destiny 2: Beyond Light focuses on offering new content, but also introduces significant changes in the gameplay. The guards are no longer confined to using only light-related abilities. Through the expansion for the first time, they can also begin to wield the power of Stasis, which is associated with The Darkness. Each of the three character classes thus obtains different abilities useful in combat.
Destiny 2: Beyond Light offers a new feature campaign that we can play alone or together with other players. Additional Strike co-op missions are also available, as well as a powerful raid in the form of the Deep Stone Crypt. There was also a rich set of previously unknown objects, weapons and armour.
Technical aspects
Beyond Light is a non-dependent expansion, so you need the basic version of Destiny 2 to play. However, this is not an obstacle to play, as the game uses a free micropayment model.

[2:36] Destiny 2: Beyond Light trailer #1
Hardcore Gamer: 3 / 5 by Kevin Dunsmore
It's been six years since the original Destiny was released and every year it feels like we're getting closer to finally facing off against the Darkness. Every year, however, we're told it'll happen later.
GamesRadar+: 4 / 5 by Austin Wood
Beyond Light delivers one of the best raids in Destiny history and some of the best story moments in Destiny 2, and that's more than enough to make up for a few disappointing gaps.
TheSixthAxis: 8 / 10 by Tuffcub
Beyond Light isn't going to change anyone's mind about Destiny 2. Either you love the weekly grind, the increasingly complex lore, and pushing your mates off a ledge in a Raid, or you don't. For those who do, there's a lot to discover and plenty to grind for with the added benefit of the reworked game engine. They, like myself, will no doubt be sinking hundreds of hours into this over the next year. A solid, well executed update to Destiny 2, with even more content on the horizon.
