Crusader Kings III: Roads to Power

Crusader Kings III: Roads to Power is the third major expansion to Crusader Kings III, the best-selling grand strategy game released in 2020. The add-on was developed by the Paradox Development Studio team, who oversee the development of the series.

Mechanics

Crusader Kings III: Roads to Power focuses on the Byzantine Empire. The DLC brings a range of new features, led by previously unavailable management styles, in which governors are involved. You can become one of them, weaving intrigues and competing for the emperor's favor, or as a ruler appoint them, trying to keep their ambitions in check.

A nobleman from Byzantium can manage the family estate, which he uses to increase his power and expand his influence. The ruler of this country has the ability to appoint successors. If he doesn't want to rule alone, there's nothing stopping him from deciding to share power with one of the influential candidates.

The add-on also brings a new lifestyle. As adventurers without land, we can freely traverse the map and complete various contracts. This way we gain fame and earn gold, which, once we decide to settle down, we spend on buying land and building a residence, as well as gradually expanding our influence.

In addition, the list of new features includes previously unavailable events, monuments and activities, including chariot races. Roads to Power brings additional cosmetic elements maintained in the Byzantine style (such as the interface skin, court fashion, and various illustrations).
