Crimen: Mercenary Tales Description
Crimen: Mercenary Tales is a brutal first-person slasher developed for the Meta Quest 2 VR goggles. The game is lighthearted and humorous, its tone supported by comic book-like visuals and a soundtrack by Arkadiusz Reikowski (Observer, The Medium). It was developed by the Polish Carbon Studio, which specializes in VR games.
Plot
The game is set in 17th century Europe, telling the stories of eight charismatic adventurers. We control each one, witnessing both historical and fantastical events. We'll face Cossacks, pirates, werewolves, undead and many other enemy factions.
Mechanics
Crimen: Mercenary Tales is a dynamic FPP action game. The player must gruesomely dispatch enemies using 17th century weaponry, such as sabers, bows and firearms. Enemies usually overwhelm us, thus it's important to prioritize certain targets, block enemy attacks and use the environment to our advantage (throw objects, fire cannons, shoot exploding barrels).
Exploration is an important part of the game. During our journey through Crimen: Mercenary Tales we'll visit the Slovakian Lyubovka, the Polish Niedzica, the Alcazaba Castle, a pirate ship or even Baba Yaga's hideout. There are also plenty of puzzles to solve, such as playing a melody on the piano, arranging a sequence of paintings and many others.
