Blade and Sorcery Description
Blade and Sorcery is a first-person fantasy action game, in which we enter the arena and fight various types of opponents. During the game, we can wield melee and ranged weapons, as well as magic. The title has been developed with VR technology in mind (HTC Vive and Oculus Rift goggles). WarpFrog is responsible for its development and publication.
Mechanics
Blade and Sorcery is a first-person action game where the gameplay is based solely on combat with the use of melee weapons (such as swords, axes, daggers), ranged weapons (such as bows) and spells. Both the interface and the rules of the game are very intuitive - the players strike and shoot using motion controllers.
The developers responsible for the game set themselves the goal of creating a system that will allow for realistic representation of real combat. With an advanced physics engine, opponents' body react reliably to our attacks, and objects and heroes have a certain mass that affects the speed and smoothness of movement in the game world, among other things. The game also implements mechanics, which enables us to deprive enemies of body parts.
The characteristics of individual weapons are also important - for example, blades have the ability to penetrate thin fabrics, but they do not necessarily cope equally well with thick armor. However, they can be used to deflect magical attacks, so they play an important role in the equipment of most warriors.
Game modes
Blade and Sorcery can be played only solo. The devs have not prepared any multiplayer modes.
Technical aspects
Blade and Sorcery features decent three-dimensional visuals. Both character models and locations were designed in detail, although it is certainly not the quality found in top-class representatives of the genre. This is mainly due to the fact that the game looks a bit outdated from technological point of view - the textures leave some room for improvement, and the lighting effects differ from modern standards.
The high level of immersion achieved through the use of VR speaks in favor of WarpFrog's title. The game supports HTC Vive and Oculus Rift models with matching motion controllers.
