One of the most eminent private detectives, Henry White, is accused of murdering his friend and imprisoned. His son, Steven, who has so far wasted time and energy in writing second-class detective films, decides to start his own investigation into the case. Our hero suspects that his father was unjustifiably involved in the crime, and perhaps even "framed". Where is the truth? This is what you need to learn in Crime City.
Although Interactive Fantastic Fiction's product can be qualified for "adventures" without any remorse, in fact Crime City has much more to offer than just one classic representative of the genre. The need to skillfully manage cash and psychophysical development of characters, which is essential during the investigation of time, are only some of the elements that decide to break the ties with traditional productions of this type. What's more, these are the factors that largely influence the specific character of this game. The best example of the above claim is the need to make constant choices during escapades around the city. A walk from the police station to the hospital takes almost an hour and a half, but is completely free. The same section can be covered in half the time if you get on the bus. However, you will have to pay for your ticket. The last means of transport is a taxi, which travels the fastest, but also costs the most. The duty to play with the watch in hand is visible when interacting with NPCs, e.g. if it is late, some characters are tired and reluctant to talk.
Although Crime City is an interesting product and in many ways different from other detective games, it has not been very successful in the electronic entertainment market. This is probably due to the average audiovisual setting and a cumbersome scenario, which in many situations does not allow us to move forward if we missed a motif important for the development of the action, not being in the right place and at the right time.
