City Car Driving is an educational simulator that allows us to test ourselves as a car driver moving around the big city. The title was created by the Russian studio Forward Development and is an extended version of the popular in Eastern Europe 3D Instructor application.

As mentioned, the title aims to teach inexperienced drivers how to drive in the streets of the city. We start the game by choosing a vehicle. There are a dozen or so of them - from compact cars, through medium and higher class cars, to vans and small trucks. Implemented cars are not licensed, but we can easily recognize models found on real roads. After choosing the vehicle, we set off into the field. We have at our disposal a large agglomeration, in which we will find both multi-lane streets crossing the city centre and narrow roads winding among the suburbs of housing estates. We also have the opportunity to try our hand at the go-kart racetrack or leave the city and enter the mountain serpentines and unpaved forest roads.

The City Car Driving uses a realistic model of car behaviour. This applies to both driving and collisions, as the game does not lack a system of vehicle damage. Unexperienced players, before they are thrown into the deep water, can start playing on the maneuvering area, where under the guidance of a virtual instructor they learn the basic rules of participation in urban traffic. The title emphasizes compliance with regulations, compliance with road signs and driving regulations, so there is no question of races or stunt shows. In the city at our disposal we find both small crossroads of equal importance, as well as those where multi-lane streets intersect and the passage is managed by traffic lights. The agglomeration is also rich in elements such as roundabouts, motorways and ring roads and other vehicles, including trams. Of course, driving lessons cannot take place without the presence of heavy traffic, as well as pedestrians, who can invade the road at any time. Challenges can also be posed by the daily cycle, changing weather conditions, as well as random road situations, such as roadworks or accidents.

What's more, for the time of urban travels we can activate a system that gives us a clue and alerts us every time we break the law. Although the main element of the City Car Driving game is free movement in the available area and the exercise of their skills, the creators were tempted to add a dozen or so challenges of varying difficulty levels, in which we have to perform specific manoeuvres precisely.

The simulative nature of the production in question underlines the support for various steering wheels. For those who are not satisfied with the initial game content, there is nothing to prevent you from using the built-in editor and adding your own elements (vehicles) or changing existing ones (e.g. physics). Apart from car models, the graphic design of the production is relatively low, but sufficiently detailed and transparent to allow the game to fulfil its basic task, which is to prepare drivers to take part in road traffic in a large city. Due to the mission in City Car Driving, we will not experience multiplayer gameplay either.
