An FPP simulator, showing the work of the personnel dealing with the effects of the Chornobyl nuclear reactor explosion in 1986. Chornobyl Liquidators has us monitor radiation levels, deal with fires, make difficult choices and slowly discover new elements of the conspiracy.

Plot
Gameplay

Chornobyl Liquidators is a simulator in which our task is to deal with the consequences of the disaster at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant. This inside game takes a realistic look at the issues of reducing radiation levels, extinguishing fires and other countermeasures that were used after the 1986 explosion. It doesn't feature any sci-fi elements, like the ones known from the STALKER series.

Plot

In the game, we play the role of the titular liquidators - this term was used to describe people (civilians and military personnel) whose task was to remove the effects of the Chornobyl nuclear reactor disaster. This applies to both direct actions at the scene of the accident and in the nearby city of Pripyat. We can also uncover government secrets and face many moral dilemmas.

Gameplay

Chornobyl Liquidators is a first-person perspective game featuring the people belonging to a group dealing with radioactive contamination. During the gameplay, we take on the roles of various personnel delegated to work near the reactor. We use specialized firefighting equipment to extinguish fires or remove radiation, and we also drive vehicles. With a map in hand, we traverse the flooded corridors of the complex and make our way into the closed office spaces, breaking down doors with a crowbar.

The game also features tough choices dictated by security issues - we will have to face the displacement of people and hunting animals to reduce the risk of spreading radioactive dust. In Chornobyl Liquidators we can blindly fulfill the will of the government or question the orders we receive. With each subsequent task, we learn more and more secrets related to the reactor explosion. We can discover the conspiracy and learn the scale of the real threat posed by the explosion.
