A completely free, standalone expansion for Stasis – a dark science-fiction adventure game released in 2015. The plot of Cayne references the base game in a number of ways, but without spoiling it, so players new to the series can also experience the title in full. Story introduces a pregnant woman named Hadle, who wakes up in an obscure medical facility, where unknown men want to take her baby away.
Cayne for PC is an expansion for Stasis – a dark science-fiction adventure game, released in 2015. The expansion is stand-alone, so the base game is not required to enter the world of Hadle. What’s more interesting, the title is distributed free of charge. The expansion was created by The Brotherhood Games – an independent studio responsible for the original game.
Plot
The game tells a story of a pregnant woman named Hadle, who wakes up in an obscure medical facility, where unknown culprits are trying to take her baby away. The players have to make sure that this doesn’t happen.
Mechanics
The gameplay in Cayne is exactly the same as in the base game. As a result, the title is a classic adventure game, seen from an isometric view. During the gameplay, we visit further locations, looking for items that will allow us to solve problems turning up along the way. The campaign introduced by the expansion lasts for about 1.5 hours.
Technical Aspects
Cayne for PC uses the same technology as the base game, but the developers introduced some improvements, making the environment even more pretty and rich in detail. New visual elements have been implemented, including new effects. Additionally, the expansion received a new soundtrack, composed by Ivo Sadiski, and high-quality voiceovers by actors assuming the roles of the individual characters.
