A browser-based economic strategy in which players play the role of transport company owners. Their task is to take care of the development of enterprises and thus increase the assets, which can be achieved through the implementation of orders acquired in the course of the game.
CargoTycoon is an economic strategy game. The player takes on the role of the owner of a transport company, and his task is to take care of the development of the venture.
Mechanics
The main task in CargoTycoon is to complete orders for the transport of various goods. The money earned in this way can be used not only for the purchase of more vehicles, differentiated in terms of maximum payload and stats (new cars, second-hand cars, and trailers put up for sale by other players) but also for payments to drivers and the training of new employees. It is important to be aware of the skillful selection of tasks in order to earn money from their completion; otherwise, we may fall into debt, which in the long run leads to our property and the equipment being seized by the bailiff.
Once we are able to stabilize our position on the market and achieve a good reputation, and we have the right amount of money in our account, we are given the opportunity to open another branch of our company - all in order to make our business as efficient as possible. Our level of advancement is reflected in the stars awarded for subsequent successes - thanks to them the range of possibilities is extended with time to includes international orders, the possibility of bidding for tenders or setting up our own freight forwarding service, in which we employ other players.
Technical aspects
Like many other browser games, CargoTycoon is almost devoid of visuals, because the game consists mainly of dialog boxes dedicated to specific areas of our business, and there is some variety in the two-dimensional illustrations showing, for example, cars from our fleet.
