The player assumes the role of The Corporation's former employee - a driver that suddenly got fired after years of hard work. Along with two acquaintances, the protagonist decides to establish his own company. At the beginning, they can afford only a decaying building and two rusty trucks.

Truck Nation for WWW, AND and iOS is an economic strategy game focusing on the social aspects. The player develops their shipping company here and the game is a continuation to the bestselling browser title Rail Nation; also, Truck Nation was created by the same developers – Travian Games, and the Bright Future studio.

Plot

The player takes on the role of a driver who suddenly gets fired from a transport company, though they had worked in "The Corporation" for many years. Having nothing to lose, the protagonist decides to take matters into their own hands and establishes their own company with support of two old colleagues. Initially, they can afford only a decaying building and two rusty trucks. The player's tasks are to manage the company adequately, and eliminate the competitive companies, with the inclusion of the protagonist's former employer.

Mechanics

In Truck Nation for WWW, AND and iOS, the player transports about a hundred kinds of cargo, making use of nearly 50 trucks, the performance of which can be additionally improved as well, through choosing different upgrades from over a hundred different available. It is necessary to invest in the infrastructure, as well as to construct different buildings the company requires – those have to undergo regular modernization as well. As the company develops, the player obtains more trucks, hires new drivers and extends the range their services. At the beginning, the player uses local roads mainly, but over time, the company begins to reach other countries and continents. Interestingly, apart from regular transport jobs, the game offers illegal opportunities to earn larger amounts of virtual money, such as smuggling cargo or transporting wanted individuals.

The entirety of gameplay here takes place on authentic maps that present the most important roads and famous cities (with their characteristic buildings) in a simplified manner. During incessant journeys, the player also encounters numerous speed cameras and police checks. The game is played in rounds (one lasts 12 weeks) – the player who managed to have the largest part of the market encircled by their operations in each round wins. Since the game focuses on the social element, creating special associations with other players makes it much easier to eliminate the competitive companies. Even up to 25 players can cooperate with each other within one such alliance.
