Bound By Blades is an action RPG game about defeating enemy bosses and upgrading equipment, which we can enjoy alone or with friends.
Bound By Blades is an action RPG in which players assume the roles of one of the cat heroes and are tasked with defeating increasingly difficult bosses - alone or in the company of friends. The game is a debut project of the independent studio Zeth.
Plot
In the game, players assume the role of one of three available cat heroes, whose task is to protect the beloved land of Ashmyr from the attack of mysterious Ilcons. Each of the enemies has its own history and between the fights, thanks to the lore shared among the inhabitants of protagonists' village, players will be able to understand the history of each enemy and get hints that can make battles easier to fight. In the meantime, players also discover the fate of the true heroine of Bound By Blades - enigmatic Finny.
Mechanics
Bound By Blades is a game relvolving around defeating diverse opponents in the form of 25 available bosses. Combat is dynamic and consists of fast and powerful attacks, blocks, counters, combos, and spectacular finishers. Moreover, each of the available heroes is associated with a different gameplay style. After the fight is over, players are scored based on the amount of life lost during the fight.
The fights take place across rectangular arenas, where player move around its edges, and can the attack or defend themselves only when standing in one of the four corners.
In the game there is a system of developing the characters in the form of upgrading their equipment. With the help of the acquired pieces of equipment, which fall out of the killed bosses and the mini game Dreamland (i.e. collecting things visible on the screen by clicking at the right moment), the player can go to the local blacksmith and improve owned weaponry as well as armour consisting of several elements. Thanks to the runes available in the game, players can upgrade their characters by improving their offensive or defensive stats.
In Bound By Blades there is a system of pets, which after breeding can accompany players in fights, also against bosses.
One can play alone, as well as in the company of friends in the cooperative mode.
Technical aspects
The game is maintained in the style of a colorful cartoon for children, full of charming creatures.
Bound By Blades has an extensive tutorial that introduces the player to all aspects of the game.
