#BLUD Description
#BLUD is an action adventure game with RPG elements, combining dungeon crawler mechanics with 1990s cartoon aesthetics. It was developed by Exit 73 Studios and published by Humble Games.
Plot
The main protagonist of #BLUD is Becky Brewster - a teenage girl born to an ancient bloodline of vampire hunters. When her city is overrun by bloodsuckers, she grabs her faithful hockey stick and sets out to save her classmates.
Mechanics
#BLUD makes use of the top-down perspective. The game focuses on completing quests acquired through social media. Becky wanders through school corridors, shopping malls and city streets, fighting vampiric hordes; aside from regular enemies she'll also face powerful bosses.
The player's primary weapon is a hockey stick which can be upgraded and equipped with new attachments, such as a grappling hook or a shovel. Brewster can also wield magic channeled through old books and school supplies, as well as take selfies with enemies to learn their strengths and weaknesses.
Technical aspects
Visually, #BLUD is very colorful, resembling popular cartoons from Cartoon Network.
