Blasters of the Universe is a shooter using VR goggles (depending on our hardware, it can be PlayStation VR, HTC Vive or Oculus Rift). The title was developed by The Secret Location studio from Canada. The company is not very well known to the gamers, but it employs experienced professionals, having worked on various projects with corporations such as Samsung, Fox Studios, Sony Pictures or even Toyota.

Story

The game tells the story of an attempt to retake virtual reality from the hands of a certain Alwyn. He was formerly known as Allen Fitzpatrick. He often sat in a gaming room until he finally entered the world of VR and conquered it. But the time has come to deprive him of his kingdom.

Mechanics

Blasters of the Universe is a first-person shooter in the bullet hell convention. It means more or less that while playing, the opponents send a lot of projectiles our way, between which we have to move. The game is a purely arcade title and requires not only shooting but also avoiding the attacks of enemies (for this purpose we crouch and twist). In addition, some missiles can be blocked using a shield. In addition, it's all about knowing your opponents' behavior and looking for their weak points. One of the most interesting ideas used in Blasters of the Universe is the ability to make our own weapons. By combining different parts together, it is possible to create, for example, a rifle with poisonous bullets. The difficulty level is high, but for less advanced players there is the Casual mode.

Game modes

The title offers gameplay in several modes. The basic one is the story campaign divided into several levels; on each level, we meet different opponents, get weapon parts and fight against a powerful boss. In addition, levels can be repeated in Endless Mode, in which we fight until we die. There were also Challenge Mode with special challenges.

Technical aspects

Blasters of the Universe boasts eye-catching visual style that evokes associations with science-fiction films from the 1980s.
