Big Ambitions

Big Ambitions is a game that combines economic strategy with an RPG simulator of life in a big city. The productions were developed by the well-known startup company studio Hovgaard Games.

Mechanics

In the game, players assume the role of a New York City resident who starts with a rented apartment and their first job. Their goal is to become the richest person in the city. To achieve this, we need to start small companies and then grow them into powerful corporations. The game offers various business options, including gift, alcohol or clothing stores, supermarkets, law firms, and florists.

Big Ambitions offers elaborate mechanisms for running one's own business in economic strategies. Throughout the game, players take loans, design logos, find headquarters, look for employees, build infrastructure, and manage finances. As the business grows, players must hire logistics and HR managers, sales representatives, and prepare offices for them.

All in a form familiar from simulators and RPGs, meaning that the character must perform various activities personally. The player can enter and purchase nearly any building in the game. They can spend the money they earn not only on developing their businesses but also on improving their hero's life. At the same time, it is important to note that the hero is not a robot that can work indefinitely. Therefore, players must take care of their character's sleep and health.

Technical aspects

Big Ambitions features a simple but pleasing 3D graphics that allows players to observe events from an isometric camera.
