Bayonetta Video Game Series

Gameplay in games under the banner of Bayonetta evokes associations with the aforementioned series Devil May Cry. In both series a lot of emphasis was placed on effective and dynamic clashes. Bayonetta's standard arsenal is four pistols and white weapons, but the heroine can also summon other deadly tools, such as power saws and iron virgins, with the help of which she brings out such a special one. Even the witch's hair poses a threat, as it not only forms her outfit, but also serves as a link to the underworld, and with it the protagonist can summon demons. An important element of the gameplay are dodges, which, if made a moment before an enemy attack, can slow down time. An interesting addition to the game are assessments of our fighting style, which encourage us to repeat skirmishes in order to achieve the best possible result.

In the first part of the series we find ourselves in the fictional European city of Vigrid. The title character - the witch Bayonetta - has awakened with memory loss after five centuries of dormancy. The game begins 20 years after this event. The protagonist learns that the balance between good and evil was once defended by two factions - the Umbra Witches and the Lumen Sages. Unfortunately, both organizations disappeared under mysterious circumstances, and with them two powerful artifacts called the Eyes of the World. When it comes to light that Bayonetta possesses one of these items, the protagonist is forced to confront the forces of Heaven, who want to get the power of the relics for themselves. Action of the game Bayonetta 2 takes place in the Middle East, a few months after the events of the previous part of the series. Most of the action takes place on the fictional Fimbulventr Mountain and the nearby town of Noatun. During the battle with the forces of Heaven, the protagonist's friend Jeanne, a witch, dies. So the protagonist sets out for Mount Fimbulventr, where the Gates of Hell are said to be located, in order to get her companion's soul out. In this part we face the battle against both the forces of Heaven and Hell. In the game Bayonetta 3 the protagonist must confront a biological weapon that threatens all of humanity - powerful monstrosities called Homunculi. W Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon on the other hand, we have the opportunity to see the origins of Bayonetta, who, still as the titular Cereza, must travel to Avalon Forest to further her knowledge and save her mother.

In addition, a full-length anime was made in 2013, titled Bayonetta: Bloody Fate, which is an adaptation of the first part of the series.
