Battlefield 7

Battlefield 7 is – despite the name – the tenth main installment of the popular first-person shooter series from Electronic Arts. It was mainly created by the Swedish studio EA DICE, which has been developing the series since 2002. The development process, which began at the turn of 2021 and 2022, was led by Vince Zampella, co-founder of Respawn Entertainment. The company is known for such games as Titanfall 2, Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. It was acquired by EA in 2017.

In addition to EA DICE, the studios EA Motive (responsible for the story campaign), Criterion Games and Ripple Effect were engaged in the production.

Title of the game

The official title of this project is still unknown. It has become common to colloquially call it Battlefield 7 due to the numbering of previous installments. The penultimate game in the series is BF V from 2018, released five years after BF 4. A full-fledged "sixth entry" has not been released, but Battlefield 2042 (2021) can be considered as such. Following this line of reasoning, the next installment of the series is the "seven".

Campaign

After the disappointment of its predecessor, BF 7 will bring back a story campaign featuring a modern conflict between NATO and a private military company. The conflict will take place in Gibraltar among other places.

Multiplayer

In the multiplayer mode, which is overseen by EA DICE itself, the game will once again offer smaller matches for 64 players (instead of 128), and standard character classes for the genre instead of the specialists known from BF 2042 (trooper, medic and others). There is also going to be a "realistic and exciting environment destruction system".
