The second of the Battlefield 4 DLCs, expanding multiplayer capabilities. It brings with it, as always, 4 new maps - but this time, they're not entirely new locations but rather reworked maps known from Battlefield 3. Operation Metro, Operation Caspian Border, Operation Firestorm, and the Gulf of Oman in their refreshed versions, offer primarily slightly better graphics and a greater degree of destruction, made possible by the Frostbite 3 engine.
Battlefield 4: Second Assault is the second of five multiplayer DLC add-ons to the popular shooter, Battlefield 4, developed by DICE, the studio responsible for the entire Battlefield series. The expansion requires the original Battlefield 4 installed.
Like the rest of the DLCs for Battlefield 4, Second Assault focuses completely on content for the fans of multiplayer gameplay. In accordance to the tradition, the expansion offers four multiplayer maps. This time, they are familiar to fans of Battlefield 3, though in a modified form: Operation Metro 2014, Caspian Border 2014, Gulf of Oman 2014, and Operation Desert Storm 2014. These maps differ from their counterparts in the previous Battlefield mainly due to the capabilities of the Frostbite 3 engine, which offers a greater degree of environment destruction.
Besides additional maps, Second Assault introduces previously absent Capture the Flag mode. The goal is to capture the enemy flag and transport it to one’s base. In addition, the DLC expands the virtual arsenal with 5 types of weapons, and also allows the player to sit behind the wheel of a Buggy car. The players are also given 10 quests centered around the new content for the execution of which they are awarded additional bonuses.
